Help advocate for change. In Massachusetts, Partners In Democracy is working to pass important legislation into law. If you’re a Massachusetts resident, check out our guide to the bills we’re supporting, and use the links to submit testimony via MAPLE.
Community Conversations
Are you a leader of or organizer for an advocacy group, Ward or Town Committee, or other community organization? We are interested in bringing a Community Conversation to your members!
Community Conversations can be either 20 or 60 minute interactive workshops— held either virtually or in person — that aim to identify shared priorities and pain points among an organization’s members and empower participants with the knowledge of how their priorities intersect with the need for democracy reforms in Massachusetts.
PID designs these conversations to:
- Create a space where participants can speak openly about what’s working—and what isn’t—in our current political system, especially the Massachusetts legislature.
- Help folks see how systemic barriers (like legislative inaction or lack of transparency) connect to the day-to-day issues they care about, whether that’s business, housing, healthcare, education, etc.
- In the longer format, we aim to introduce new tools and opportunities for civic engagement, including how to submit testimony at the State House, support democratic reforms, and engage in community advocacy.

We’d love to explore how PID could support your community by holding a similar conversation, tailored to the needs of your members. Please fill out the Community Conversation interest form and a team member will be in touch for scheduling!
Advocacy Training
Looking to make your voice heard? PID’s Advocacy Training aims to train and support community members of all ages from all walks of life to be champions of democracy renovation in their communities.
Our Advocacy Training includes monthly iterations of two unique components that alternate each month: Foundational Workshops and Policy Deep Dives. Together, these aim to produce effective advocates who are equipped with the tools and knowledge they need to feel empowered to be the change they wish to see.
- Foundational Workshops are interactive, each focusing on building a singular tangible skill. Recent examples include public speaking and op-ed writing.
- Policy Deep Dives are educational in nature, and strive to offer simultaneously in-depth and digestible explorations of a given aspect of PID’s legislative agenda.

These offerings are not based around cohorts– join any time, for any session! No need to feel you are behind, as we plan to offer each workshop and deep dive yearly.
Candidate Training & Toolkit
Just like our pursuit of a more perfect Union, this section is in progress. Check back regularly for updates!
As we look to the 2026 election season, PID hopes to increase the number of people running for State Legislative seats, to in turn increase competition and provide voters with more choices. To that end, PID wants to make it easier for all people who are interested to run for office by democratizing the knowledge and resources necessary to run effectively.
We plan to offer a Candidate Toolkit that will be available free of charge to all interested parties, that will compile resources, trainings, and templates that candidates may find useful should they decide to run for office.
Learning Communities
Partners in Democracy’s is Learning Communities are spaces to help shape the next phase of democracy renovation policy in Massachusetts.
The Learning Communities (Democracy Renovators, Business, Right-of-Center, Young Democracy Renovators, Gateway Cities, Labor, Policy, and Faith Leaders) meet quarterly to workshop and evaluate big-picture reform ideas.
Between meetings, we host Issue-Based Policy Presentations focused on specific issue areas (like voting access, campaign finance, or government transparency), where participants can bring concrete policy proposals to explore together.
If you are a leader in one of the groups (Business, Right-of-Center, Young Democracy Renovators, Gateway Cities, Policy, or Faith Leaders) and are interested, please schedule a meeting with our Coalitions Manager.

If you believe that you qualify for at least 70% of this job description we encourage you to apply. We know that imposter syndrome and the confidence gap can prevent strong candidates from applying to a job unless they see themselves as a 100% fit. We would love to hear from you.
